4H Additional Rules -
Date of Birth is required on all entry forms.
Any 4H member who does not win prize money will be awarded $10 for participation.
4H Herdsman competitions (Classes 14, 26 & 40) are to be pre-entered by 4H leaders. All 4H Clubs are encouraged to set up their stall areas as a distinct club exhibit. Each exhibit MUST have a sign/ banner with the club name and individual signs for each animal. The following will be used to judge the competition:
A. General Appearance
B. Courtesy and neatness of attendance
C. Neatness of exhibitor area.
Group of 3 entries are to be pre-entered by the 4H leader. There will be 1 entry per club permitted in each section.
No cattle/sheep will be permitted access to our fairgrounds unless they have an undamaged, intact approved RFID tag. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to ensure that all of the tags on their animals are undamaged and applied properly prior to leaving your property and prior to unloading at the fairgrounds.
IF an animal loses a tag while on our fairgrounds, you must immediately notify the appropriate committee head/staff- member and re-tag it with an RFID tag that has been supplied by our Agricultural Society at a charge to the exhibitor of $100. YOU will be responsible for applying the supplied tag to your animal prior to loading the animal to exit the property. Owners are required to bring their own taggers/ pliers to apply replacement tags, and equipment to restrain the animal if required.
Animals that have lost a tag may not be allowed to show unless it has been re-tagged.

RULES:
A. Dress Code: This is a 4-H therefore contestants are required to wear a white collared shirt & black trousers or slacks — no blue jeans, no ball caps, no hats, and no running shoes. This will apply throughout the show.
B. Group of 3: 1 entry per 4-H Club – 4 animals from same Club – Animals must have been exhibited in previous classes.
C. Herdsman Award: 1 entry per club, Best 4-H Display in Barns. All entry's MUST tie with their 4-H Club
Points followed by:
Presentation of Exhibit (55 Points)
Decorations: Neat & Eye Catching - 20 points
Backdrop: Simple and not overdone- 20 points
Signs: Tidy, easy to read, Complete information, one per animal- 15 points
Care Of Cattle (45 Points)
Cattle: Clean, well-groomed, Comfortable, tied, properly fed and watered - 20 points
Aisles/Feed, Storage & Equipment: Neat, able to walk through feed alleys, Chutes Clean and out of way- 10 Points
Bedding/Packs: Adequate Bedding, Clean, Bright, Straight lines- 15 points

Each exhibit must include a backdrop stating the topic of the exhibit and Club name
It is expected that the Club members will place the exhibit
Each exhibit will be allowed a maximum of 3.5 feet of table space
Exhibits will be based on some educational aspect of the 4H Club Project (ie. animals, growing plants, home & family, natural resources, personal growth, etc.) and planned and executed by members and leaders of the club.
Age Group: 9-21 years old as of January 1st of the current year (Novice 9-10 years; Junior 11-13 years; Intermediate 14-17 years; Senior 18-21 years)
All exhibits will be judged by score cards as follows:
Attractiveness 25 points
Simplicity & Effectiveness 25 points
